Omar Al-Mukhtar, nicknamed the Sheikh of the Martyrs or the Lion of the Desert (b. 1862 - September 16, 1931), was an Arab Muslim leader. He fought the Italian invasion from their entry into Libya until 1931. His family Name The Lion of the Desert Omar Mukhtar.
